A New Name, The Same Great Community If you’ve attended our recent events, you might have noticed a change in the banners. I am incredibly proud to announce that over the next couple of months, Olympic Miniatures is officially evolving into Unity Tournaments.
First Things First: Don’t Panic! In the tabletop gaming world, sudden rebrands usually spark a bit of panic. We have not been bought out by a faceless corporation, there is no change in management, and our entry fees aren’t suddenly doubling. The exact same passionate nerd is still running the events, and my dedication to providing you with the best competitive experience possible hasn’t changed one bit.
So, Why the Change? (And Let’s Be Honest About the Old Logo) To be brutally honest, it was time for an upgrade. Olympic Miniatures holds a lot of fond memories for me, but let’s call a spade a spade—our old logo and design aesthetic looked like it was created by an eight-year-old who had just discovered MS Paint for the first time.
As the events have grown in size and quality, I realized we needed a brand identity that actually matches the high-level competitive experience we strive to deliver. But more importantly, I needed a name that reflects what we actually stand for.
For me, this hobby has always been about more than just pushing models around a table. It’s about the players, partnering with our fantastic local shops, and strengthening the entire regional scene. I chose the name Unity Tournaments because it perfectly captures my core mission: bringing people together and strengthening our ties to our other amazing local TOs through the King Beyond the Wall circuit. I am just one of the many people that are part of this massive, thriving community, and I want these events to be a unifying force for everyone involved.
The Transition Roadmap I’m using the massive shift in the Warhammer 40,000 universe as the perfect backdrop for this evolution, making a clean transition to match the upcoming launch of 11th Edition. Here is what to expect:
- April & May (The Transition): You will see both logos flying at events so everyone gets used to the new name. May will mark my final event under the Olympic Miniatures banner—be sure to grab the last of the “legacy” stickers and merch before they become collector’s items!
- June & July (The Launch): Unity Tournaments fully launches alongside the drop of 11th Edition. Expect a fresh look, a much better logo, and brand-new gear and merch debuting at our July event.
Rolling Dice Into the Future I am incredibly grateful for the support you’ve all shown Olympic Miniatures over the years. I can’t wait to welcome you to Unity Tournaments and show you what I have planned next.
Thank you for being part of the journey. Let’s get ready for a massive summer of gaming!
